Web Accessibility Toolbar for Opera [WAT for Opera] 1.1

The WAT for Opera has been developed to aid manual examination of web pages for a variety of aspects of accessibility.

The Web Accessibility Toolbar 2.0 beta is now available.

Whats new version 2.0

  • Compatible with IE 7 and Vista
  • All functions (except third party) no longer rely upon external scripts.
  • Most functions now work when javascript is disabled
  • Most functions (where applicable) work across frames & iframes
  • HTML validator - checks files from a local server or folder.

New Functionality

  • Log window: when the log text box is opened, any messages that a function provides are written to the log window (instead of an alert box). Text can also be entered into the log text box. this info can be saved to a text file.
  • Open in Firefox and opera buttons: opens the current page in firefox or Opera (if installed)
  • HTML validation quick check: returns summary check results from the W3C validator.
  • Frames list: provides access to any framed documents
  • Generated source highlighter: generated source views with elements highlighted.

Colour Contrast Analyser - Firefox Extension 0.2
The Colour Contrast Analyser Firefox extension lists colour combinations used in the document in a table that summarises the foreground colour, background colour, luminosity contrast ratio, and the colour difference and brightness difference used in the algorithm suggested in the 26th of April 2000 working draft for Accessibility Evaluation and Repair Tools (AERT). Each element is also listed with its parent elements, and class and id attribute values when specified to make it easier to locate the elements.
Readability Test
The readability test analyses a Web page to determine how readable it is.

The CSS analyser tests for basic accessibility errors such as colour contrast and units of measurement.
Colour Contrast Analyser
Analizador de Contraste de Color - versión española:
The colour contrast analyser tests whether the contrast between the background and the foreground is sufficient.
Luminosity Contrast Ratio Analyser
Tests whether foreground and background colour combinations are sufficient using a new algorithm developed by Trace R & D Center.
Accessible Style Sheet Bookmarklet
An article explaining how to create an accessible style sheet bookmarklet, with a usable example at the end.
Glossary of Terms Extension
A Mozilla/Firefox extension to reveal abbreviations and acronyms added by the author.
Complex Table Inspector
A Mozilla/Firefox extension to reveal accessibility features in tables. Also available as a bookmarklet for other browsers.
Image Analyser
The image analyser tests Web pages to ensure that images have been specified properly.
Link Analyser
The link analyser lists all links on a page with an icon to indicate whether or not the link resolved successfully.

Contrast Analyser for APPLE MAC: download and installation instructions

A MAC version of the Contrast Analyser has been developed by Cedric Trevisan (TPG). The interface is similar to the windows version.
Note: at this stage the CCA MAC does not have the image simulation features found in the windows version.

Download the CCA for MAC beta (379kb .dmg file) English, French, Italian and Swedish Universal Binary.

System Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later.

For anybody interested in providing a translation the translation kit can be downloaded. Please contact Cedric Trevisan if you have any questions about the translations for the MAC version, otherwise send Cedric the completed files so they can be added to the installation.

Colour Contrast Analyser 1.1 [CCA 1.1] - This software has been superceded

Colour Contrast Analyser 1.0 [CCA 1.0]

A tool for checking foreground & background colour combinations to determine if they provide good colour visibility. Determining colour visibility is based on algorithms suggested by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C):
